Desktop App — Valdium Operator
What is Valdium Operator?
Valdium Operator is a desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux that lets you run a full validator node, manage your wallet, stake VLD, and monitor the network — all through a native GUI with no terminal required.
Installation
Download the latest release from valdium.xyz/downloads. Choose your platform (macOS .dmg, Windows .exe, Linux .AppImage), open the installer, and drag to Applications.
First launch
Step 1: Create your wallet. Enter a password (minimum 8 characters) and click Create. A Dilithium3 keypair is generated and encrypted with scrypt (N=131072) + AES-GCM-256. Your private key never exists unencrypted on disk.
Step 2: Sync the blockchain. The app syncs the full chain (~50 MB, 2–10 minutes depending on your connection). You can't skip the sync — validators need the full chain history.
Once synced, you're in the dashboard.
Staking and validating
The dashboard detects your validator status automatically:
- Not staked — request test VLD from the faucet, enter your password, click "Stake 1,000 VLD & Start Validating"
- Pending — your bond transaction was submitted, activating in the next few blocks
- Active ✓ — you're producing blocks. The dashboard shows block height, peers, and live BFT quorum
